Athletes and Medical Personnel Debate Best Proteins For Muscle Growth
The best proteins for maximizing muscle protein synthesis has been greatly debated by everyone from athletes to medical practitioners. Casein, provides a sustained slow release of amino acids which provides a more efficient release of Amino acids into the blood stream. Conversely, whey and soy proteins digest more rapidly but are much less efficient. Because the properties are so different, supplement manufacturers often combine the two into a mixture.
In the past, little research was available on which protein
provided the most advantages for muscle development. Recently, a team of
German Scientists and a German Translator undertook a study to identify
the best protein for athletes involved in weightlifting. The results of
the study suggested that whey protein provided the greatest benefit for weight
lifters because it tends to digest much more quickly.
